    Dorothea Lange

    Along with Walker Evans and Gordon Parks, Dorothea Lange (1895-1965) was probably the best-known photographer to come out of the U.S. government's Farm Security Administration-sponsored program of the Thirties and Forties. This socially conscious documentarian of Dust Bowl migrants took one of the most famous pictures of the Depression era, Migrant Mother. Click any thumbnail for a slideshow.
